Accounting Executive I
The Accounting unit provides effective, financial and accounting services to all arms of the Assembly Legislative Secretariat and ensures that all financial functions are conducted in compliance with the Exchequer and Audit Act, the Financial Regulations and Instructions, and the Tobago House of Assembly Financial Rules
Specific responsibilities are as follows:
Accurate preparation of salaries and allowances to designated members of the Assembly and all constituency staff.
Accurate preparation of salaries of staff employed in the various sections of the Secretariat, as well as allowances, expenses and other costs, properly authorised and in accordance with relevant regulations and instructions.
Assisting the Clerk in the financial management of the organization by maintaining relevant, accurate and up-to-date records on all aspects of the Secretariat’s finances, thus facilitating prompt and efficient decision making.
Preparation of estimates, after consultation with Heads of Sections and the Clerk of the Assembly.
Ensuring the prompt payment of all approved invoices for goods and services
Arranging regular audits of financial records to ensure their maintenance in accordance with relevant financial regulations.
Staffing for this section includes: Accounting Executive, Accountants, Accounting Assistants, Clerks, Clerk/Stenographer, Clerk/Typists and Auditing Assistant.
