MEMBER BIOGRAPHY

Mr Orlando Kerr is a dedicated individual who holds the positions of Councillor of the Tobago House of Assembly Legislature and Assistant Secretary for Education, Research and Technology in the Tobago House of Assembly (TH.A.). A proud family man and business owner, he currently resides in the tranquil village of Delaford, Tobago with his wife and two sons.


Orlando received his secondary education from Scarborough Secondary School between 1984 and 1987, followed by Signal Hill Secondary School from 1987 to 1992. He subsequently pursued a career in the field of education, earning his Teacher's Diploma from the Valsayn Teacher’s College. With a strong passion for education, he dedicated his career to initiatives which served to enhance the educational experience for his students and improve the educational landscape in his community. Known for his professionalism and commitment, Orlando is highly regarded for his contributions to the field of education. His dedication and leadership have earned him the respect of colleagues and students alike.


Serving at various levels in the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers'Association (T&TUTA) is a hallmark period of Orlando's career. His dedication and commitment culminated in his election as the Tobago Officer of T&TUTA for two consecutive terms, from 2014 to 2017 and 2017 to 2020. During his tenure, he represented the Association at various conferences of the Caribbean Union of Teachers (C U T), advocating for the rights of members of the teaching profession throughout the Caribbean.


Orlando Kerr’s extensive experience, combined with his drive for continuous improvement, makes him a valuable asset in the field of education As the Assistant Secretary in the Division of Education, Research and Technology, he actively contributes to the development of innovative and practical solutions and policies for the effective operation of the Division.


Outside of his professional endeavours, Orlando enjoys spending quality time with his family and engaging In community service activities He firmly believes in giving back to society and strives to make a positive impact in everything he does.


In his free time. Councillor Orlando Kerr enjoys engaging in outdoor activities particularly football He has also served as a member of the executive of the Tobago Cricket Association (TC. A.) and the Tobago Football Association (TEA.).
