“With respect to the recently concluded trip to Jamaica by a delegation of the Tobago House of Assembly, can the Secretary indicate the following:

a. Was a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) executed between the Tobago House of Assembly and the University of Technology, Jamaica.

b. If the response is in the affirmative to part (a) above, can the Secretary indicate the date that the MOU was signed and the parties involved?”

Thank you, Madam Presiding Officer. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Tobago House of Assembly and the University of Technology, Jamaica - On Friday March, 17th 2023, the University of Technology, Jamaica and the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), finalized an MOU. This Memorandum of Understanding, upon being finalized, was dispatched from the University of Technology, Jamaica, down through to the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs for final vetting, and that is where the MOU is at this juncture.

Madam Presiding Officer, is the Chief Secretary confirming that no MOU was signed on his trip to Jamaica after his stop off from Berlin?

Madam Presiding Officer, both the President of Utech, Jamaica and myself, affixed  our signatures to the document and the document was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Caricom Affairs from Utech through their Ministry of  Foreign Affairs for final vetting.
